Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has sent his warm greetings to Muslims in the constituency on the commencement of 2025 Ramadan.
In his congratulatory text on Saturday, March 1, 2025, Hon. Adepoju said that the spiritual significance of Ramadan cannot be overemphasised.
The lawmaker expressed the sense of community bonding the holy month of Ramadan brings, urging the Muslim faithful to leverage the opportunity to bring far-reaching peace in the constituency.
He enjoined Muslims across the constituency to seize the blessed month of Ramadan to pray for Ibarapa Land, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
Ibarapakan said he has been in close contact with a good number of Muslims in the constituency in the last three days, saying that he would always be there for the people of all religious faiths in the constituency.
He also used the moment to announce his Ramadan lecture, which he said would be taking place on Monday the 17th of this month to further achieve strong co-existence in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency.
“I congratulate the Muslim faithful in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North on the commencement of this year’s Ramadan. Ramadan is very significant not only for anybody that practices Islam but also for everyone who values the words of God.
“As Ramadan is also a period of charity and generosity, I have reached out to a good number of Muslims in the last three days in our own little way to help ease the problem of not having anything to observe this important exercise.
“Aside from that, I will be hosting a Ramadan lecture in the middle of this holy month to promote peace and unity and to acquaint the people of my constituency with the words of Almighty God through the help of Islamic scholars within and outside the constituency. This Ramadan lecture will also feature a quiz competition to test the knowledge of our Muslim brothers and sisters on their knowledge of Ramadan and others,” he said.
The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character, however, wished all Muslims in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North renewed strength to observe this year’s fasting.
