Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has facilitated empowerment programme for another batch of hundreds of constituents in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas of Oyo State.
The 3-day programme, which commenced on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Ayete Town Hall in Ibarapa North, had beneficiaries from across the five principal communities that comprise the federal constituency.
The programme was prepared, organised and monitored by Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA) and Ceejay Joe Nigeria Limited.
The programme also featured sensitisation against drug abuse for the youth in the federal constituency to combat the intake of illicit drugs in order to ensure a safe and secure society.
Speaking on the programme, Hon. Adepoju appreciated BCDA for its efforts in sensitising the youth of the constituency against drug abuse as well as assisting him and the federal government of Nigeria in empowering teeming constituents of the two local government areas. He urged participants in the exercise to make good use of the knowledge impacted and the empowerment to make informed decisions in their daily-to-day lives.
The lawmaker said the sensitisation part of the programme was aimed at eliminating drug abuse in the constituency and ensuring a strategic method tailored to safeguarding the most vulnerable in the region.
Hon. Adepoju also hinted on his soon-to-hold mega empowerment programme in the constituency, assuring the people of the constituency of his commitment to bringing more dividends of democracy to those who have given him the mandate to serve them.
